Principal's Message

Welcome Back, Rivera Dragons!

Dear Rivera Families,

My name is Joe Anthony Arista, and it is with great pride and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new Principal of Rivera Elementary School. I am honored to lead such a vibrant school community filled with dedicated educators, enthusiastic students, and supportive families. Together, we will continue the strong tradition of excellence that defines Rivera.

As we begin the 2025–2026 school year, I am excited about the many opportunities ahead. Our mission remains clear: to empower all students to reach their full potential. This year, we will continue to strengthen our academic programs, foster social-emotional growth, and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for every student.

At Rivera, our students are Dragons on FIRE, living out our core values of Friendship, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence. These principles guide our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program and help us create a school culture where students feel seen, heard, and valued. Our staff is deeply committed to nurturing each child’s growth and helping them become confident, responsible learners.

A key part of student success is consistent attendance. When students are present and engaged, they are more likely to thrive academically and socially. Let’s work together to ensure that every moment matters and every day counts—because every day your child is at school is another step toward their bright future.

My journey in education has included leadership at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, and I have always believed that strong relationships are the foundation for strong schools. I look forward to meeting our students, partnering with our families, and working alongside our talented staff to make this an extraordinary year.
